Breathe : Into The Shadows Yet Remains In Shadows Review by INFORMAL REVIEW

By Manish Surve

Director : Mayank Sharma

Starring : Abhishek Bachchan, Amit Sadh, Nithya Menen

The series revolves around a father whose daughter is missing for nearly nine months. Now it's his turn to do whatever to save his child. It showcases how a family gets caught up in this mess and a famous transferred Mumbai cop Kabir Sawant tries to solve it in Delhi. They have very well connected the dots of Season One at the starting of this season. There are some unnecessary moments that could have been neglected. The series is stretched to 12 episodes which could have been made in 8-9 episodes. The series is 2nd season for Breathe but it only sees return of 2 old characters.

Abhishek Bachchan in the role of psychiatrist Dr. Avinash Sabharwal impresses you in some of the scenes. But in some scenes his acting falls flat on its face. This series can do wonders for him as Sacred Games did for Saif Ali Khan. Amit Sadh plays the same short tempered inspector Kabir Sawant. He is as we know sharp and dedicated to his work but he always gets caught up with the problems. He worked up for this character perfectly. Nithya Menen as Abha, wife of Avinash, picks up her character very slowly. As you can see, there is lack of emotion in some scenes. Hrishikesh Joshi and Shrikant Verma together created the most funny scene in this series. They get you engaged in the series. Saiyami Kher's character was totally wasted this season. She will surely play a bigger role in next season. All the supporting cast gets mixes into the series as sugar in milk.

The plot of the story is little bit similar to the season one. The direction of Mayank Sharma is good. He actually creates the past trouble story of the protagonist very well. Some of the shooting locations are great and mostly real. He directed some somes very gently. But yet the story is chaotic.

The first season in which R.Madhavan acted was exceptionally better than this season.

The chaotic but good story, some great performances and a twistfull ending makes this series on your watchlist. The series is available on Amazon Prime Video.
