The movie describes Hugh Glass's experiences in 1823. It showcases the struggle of Hugh Glass life. After he was attacked by a bear how he managed to survive is the main aspect of the movie. The movie has some layers of love, friendship, betrayal and vengeance. The movie is loosely based on the 2002 novel 'The Revenant'.


Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of Hugh Glass nails it. His character barely has 10 minutes of dialogue in the whole movie. So it is all on his expressions. He earned 6th nomination for Oscars, winning it for the first  time. Tom Hardy plays the character of John Fitzgerald who is naive, short tempered and selfish. The role earned him his first Oscars.It is sad he didn't get the award. As some belive his performance was better than Leonardo DiCaprio. The supporting cast was also highly praised for their performances.


Alejandro G. Iñàrritu directed this film phenomenally. He created a great environment for the movie. Most of the scenes don't have dialogues which are difficult to convey to the audience. He got back to back Oscars as 'Best Director' after 'The Birdman'. He also won his 3rd Oscars for 'Best Cinematography'. He used real locations to shoot the entire movie costing 30 millions more on budget. The movie was surprisingly not shot on a green screen which is famous nowadays. The VFX used for creating a bear was highly praised by all the critics. 


The movie got nominated for 12 Academy Awards winning 3 out of it. Leonardo DiCaprio won all the awards he was nominated for this role with 32 awards.


The great screenplay, phenomenal acting and beautiful cinematography makes this film one of the greatest. It is available on Netflix.

The Walk

 I started my walk as usual but as soon as I got out of my gate, I started to feel a little weird. I didn’t have this type of feeling in my life.
