ONE ARRANGED MURDER

ONE ARRANGED MURDER

One arranged murder is the ninth and twelfth overall book written by famous Chetan Bhagat. We all know him for some famous movies like Kai Po Che, 2 States, and Half Girlfriend, etc. The book is of a total of 312 pages with paperback. It is available on Amazon and the link for the book is given at the end of the blog.

The book is a sequel to The Girl In Room 105. So if you haven’t read that one I will tell you to read that first. There might be some possible spoiler from the first book so beware.

Keshav and Saurabh are living their happy life with a steady job and with their detective agency. Once again their life takes a turn because of the LOVE. Saurabh falls in love with Prerna in arrange marriage. The night of Karwa Chauth comes, holy night for all wives as they fast for their husbands to give them a long life. Yet to marry Prerna fasts for Saurabh as she waits for him on terrace. What has life decided for this lovebird and how a LOVE MARRIAGE is going to turn into a LOVE MURDER……

The book engaged me well within a couple of pages as it begins with the nokjhok of two friends cum brothers. The charisma of Keshav starts from the beginning as we see a lot of character development from the first part. He is not the crybaby as we saw him in the first one. He has lost love interest and now only seeing it for fun and to enjoy. His tinder knowledge has also been improved. We can apply it for his jasoos skill also. His past made him strong but it made him vulnerable for sure. If Keshav is the heart of a book then Saurabh is the soul of this book. His innocence and wittiness bring a smile to our faces. Foodie person who is always ready to eat with the quantity to fill enough 3-4 people. His nose even got sharper for his food. He is experiencing his first love of life and we see that joy in him. Keshav is incomplete without Saurabh as Sherlock is without Watson. His sensibility is the reason Keshav cracks the cases. Maybe that is a big verdict. His emotion makes us care for him. Well, we can imagine how a little(not that little) gummy bear he can be. Prerna Malhotra soon tobe wife to Saurabh and his love of life is the main centerpiece of the book. You know what I want to say, don’t you? She is the owner of a startup called Eato. She is a successful and ambitious woman who also loves Saurabh. One thing that connected both of them was food. As we know how much Saurabh loves his food but Prerna wasn’t that much behind him, she started a startup based on food. They were like two bodies one soul. Isn’t that

always happens in books or movies? It can happen in real life if you are Prerna and Saurabh. So Kiski Nazar Lag Gayi Iss Pyaare Couple Ko? I think the answer is simple just READ THE BOOK. Malhotra family is more than equal to same dysfunctional as Lone family. That old Punjabi Delhi house family with big brother being the caretaker of the family with the wife being the nodder to the husband. Old dadi will keep forgetting and will make noise at an unnecessary time creating chaos. Younger unsuccessful sibling with the ambition to become a star but loo lazy to make some effort towards the goal. All this masala together with some dhaniya makes the recipe of this book too good. Inspector Singh is also an interesting one with a mixture of jealousy and greed. His attitude towards Keshav and Saurabh because of their last case is bitter. Inspector Rana comes back but he is not an inspector anymore. So this all chaos leads to one murder which is going to create havoc in a perfectly seen family and going to make shake their root.

Chetan Bhagat writes this book as a thriller but after some time you just forget about the situation and get comfortable there for a moment. He made some changes to this book comparing to the first one which made it good. Firstly he didn’t add prolonged which is better as it doesn’t shift momentum for unnecessary. The character development for some characters is great but itl lacks for some characters as they would have created a good mix for them. His books are like Indian Wedding, sometimes some minor characters will get a lot of attention by making the flurry. This book has a lot of colors. Incest, betrayal, love, relation, and many more to find if you want to. I would say it is a typical Chetan Bhagat book with the flavor of Agatha Christie’s Crooked House. So now you want to read Crooked House? If yes, comment below to review a book for me. This book will give you joy and a moment of refreshment for our minds.
