The Family Man 2:- The start of rebellion
On 3rd June one day before the official date of release, the much-awaited season 2 of fan favorite and critics appreciated series "The Family Manâ â arrived. They surely made us wait several months for the trailer but drooped the series one day before to make it up. The season lived up to its hyped and I enjoyed it. They controlled the story with past and present very well. The show starts after one year from last season. Starting of rebels to the new world of Srikant, its great show to watch. The story looked not stretch to extend a season and a whole new journey to Chennai was compelling.
Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari gives a rocking performance and maybe better than the first season. This season we got to see the other side of Srikant in the corporate world. A great cop tries to cope up with a corporate cubicle race with much younger people. They showed a perfect version of the man who cannot be settled in a world like that. The perfect nine to five job is not what everyone wants. Priyamani as Suchitra Iyer Tiwari had a different arc in her role. Her character development was based on all the previous encounters between Srikant and herself. The all the problems of marriage were relatable and not one-sided. You cannot hate her but you cannot like her and thatâs how her character was to me. It can be different for everyone. Sharib Hashmi as Jayavant Kasinath âJKâ Talpade is one of the best supporting role ever written characters. He is a funny, caring, and loveable character. His devotion towards Srikant is more like a brother than a colleague. He portrayed the character's innocence with a great touch. Samantha Akkineni as Rajalekshmi Chandan or âRajâ is a tough character to portray. The emotionless acting is the hardest part of acting and she has done it tremendously. The backstory of the character is very strong which doesnât give you chance to hate her. They wrote it that way and the all-credits go-to writer. This is the tough part where you want to create an antagonist but you donât want the audience to hate her. Vedant Sinha as Athrav Tiwari, the young son of Sri and Suchi is quite a character.
Raj and DK directors of the show also wrote the show with Suman Kumar. The direction was great but the writing was the icing on the cake. The show revolves on so many locations and the taste of all the places has to be similar to the original places and they succeed on it despite the restrictions due to COVID-19. The cinematography for this season is flawless. From the scenes of rebels to acting scenes, the cinematographer gets each angle perfectly.
Overall a good drama, story, and action make it worth watching. If you havenât seen the show yet then you might want to skip the later part because of âSPOILER ALERTâ.
The show started with Srilankan rebels base and their plan discussing. But within minutes a real buildup for the show started. Rebels base gets attacked by the army and three leaders Subbu, Bhaskaran, and Selvarasan fleas away to India and London respectively. Srikant now has a new life with the corporate company âCache meâ but his family especially Suchi is not happy. Srikant is not also happy with his job as he is missing his old job. When Srikant and Suchi go to that counselor, that scene is hilarious. His quote about life, âHaar Kar Jeetne Wale Ko Bazzigar Kehate Haiâ and âDarr Ke Age Jeet Haiâ are goto dialogues of our life. Someone from our group pr family somehow speaks these dialogues. Manoj bajpayeeâs style of cuss words is different. Hanks to the OTT platform we are seeing it. His curiosity about JKâs Chennai work was showing his love for the job. Another hilarious scene comes when Srikant caughtâs up in an argument with Tanmay on a bad day. He drags him like he is a little boy and slaps him till he shuts his mouth. After this scene, we get to see the old Srikant that we knew from season one. I liked the way the writers wrote about the trauma and difficulties of Milind and Zoyaâs showcased after that situation. Sunny Hindujaâs acting was at the peak in that scene where he starts to talk about that night in front of Srikant and JK. In this season we got to know more about JKâs love towards Srikant and his family as he compared them to his parents. His character is funny when the situation is serious and this kept the show going without boredness. Raji's character was great but it would have been greater if it would have played by an unknown actress. Samantha being a star actress somehow hinders more violence from the character. Raji didnât kill any prominent character from the show onscreen. Sajid killed Millind which was one of the prominent characters for the show nut Raji didnât kill him. She sure had a fighting scene with JK and Umayal but a fierce character like her didnât kill them just injured them very badly. Another side would be, showing her killing a prominent character could have led to people disliking her and thatâs why this decision could have been made. The decision is on paper good but it led to softening her character in the show. Dhriti Tiwariâs character was similar to the first season but that scene when she kills Kalyaan(Salman) was a turnover. She goes crying girl to Mahakali in seconds and rest isâŚ..
They purposely dragged that Lonavala part to the third season to create more tension in the show. The next season is in Kolkata so we can assume more seasons from the show as they explore all the cities in India and can also go to foreign cities. The prequel of the series can also be entertaining as they can show early field jobs of Srikant. Thatâs how we can gain more insights into Sirkant and Suchitraâs marriage and JK and Srikantâs friendship. Hope the third season will be fire like this one and will make us happy.
